It's a little bit of home away from home as the final Leyland Titans were taken out of service in Liverpool. Although almost exclusively a London bus, the Titan became popular in mid-life as a second-hand purchase choice, and nowhere more so than Liverpool, where Merseybus bought over 200 of them. The successor company MTL was bought by Arriva, but had to divest one garage and its contents - and this was Gillmoss, which set up as Glenvale Transport Ltd (GTL). Eventually the corporate juggernaut engulfed GTL too, in summer 2005 representing Stagecoach's second (and this time successful) attempt to set up in Liverpool. Today's Stagecoach Merseyside started massive fleet replacement, piling Darts into Gillmoss at a breakneck pace. First to go were the Metrobuses, and on 4th February 2006 only last four Titans were left - 10046, 10337, 10624 and 10850. Three of them performed a farewell tour round the city, assisted by guest buses.
