 | Sat 14/11/09 | Double-Deckers Return To The 38
After four forgettable years with artics, the 38 regained some small measure of honour today with its return to double-deckers - sadly, not RMLs, but DWs and Enviro400s (I refuse to call them Ts - they aren't!). Here are a bunch taken on the first day at Victoria and Piccadilly.

 | Sun 15/07/07 | Alton Bus Rally, 15th July 2007
Held amid torrential downpours this year, the Alton Bus Rally is best accomplished with a ride on the Mid-Hants Railway.

 | Sun 01/07/07 | North Weald Bus Rally, 1st July 2007
A brief visit to North Weald bus rally, back after three years!

 | Sat 15/04/06 | Oxford
Oxford has a superb bus scene. City of Oxford still has a classic livery (though slowly diminishing), Stagecoach (both local ex-Thames Transit and United Counties) work in and out, plus one route from Arriva the Shires; Tappins have the City Sightseeing franchise sewn up and Thames Travel complete the set.

 | Sat 15/04/06 | Reading
Made a return trip to Reading, specifically to see if any Metrobuses had survived the latest onslaught of Scania Omnidekkas - the most recent batch in a truly horrific pink livery.

 | Sat 25/03/06 | Slough
What a miserable craphole Slough is - everything they say about it is true. Depressing, dirty, ugly, threatening, an utter sewer. I loathed it so much that I only stayed there ten minutes, so this collection contains just the ONE picture I took there; sorry about that. Don't go to Slough.

 | Sat 11/03/06 | Southampton
Went to Southampton. Here Solent Blue Line share the town with the former Southampton Citybus, now part of First, while Wilts and Dorset come in from further afield and Minerva Accord operate free services to and from the station.
|
 | Sat 25/02/06 | Wokingham and Reading
Thought I'd go to Reading - but getting there was hard enough, since SWT decided to pull the tracks up AGAIN. So I only got sixteen photos at all that day, and here are seven of them.

 | Sat 04/02/06 | Liverpool
Just some of the other stuff going on in Liverpool while Stagecoach Merseyside were having their Last Titan Running Day. Present are Arriva North West and Halton as well as the former GTL.
|
 | Sat 04/02/06 | Stagecoach Merseyside's Last Titan Day
It's a little bit of home away from home as the final Leyland Titans were taken out of service in Liverpool. Although almost exclusively a London bus, the Titan became popular in mid-life as a second-hand purchase choice, and nowhere more so than Liverpool, where Merseybus bought over 200 of them. The successor company MTL was bought by Arriva, but had to divest one garage and its contents - and this was Gillmoss, which set up as Glenvale Transport Ltd (GTL). Eventually the corporate juggernaut engulfed GTL too, in summer 2005 representing Stagecoach's second (and this time successful) attempt to set up in Liverpool. Today's Stagecoach Merseyside started massive fleet replacement, piling Darts into Gillmoss at a breakneck pace. First to go were the Metrobuses, and on 4th February 2006 only last four Titans were left - 10046, 10337, 10624 and 10850. Three of them performed a farewell tour round the city, assisted by guest buses.

 | Sat 28/01/06 | Guildford, Horsham and Crawley
Another wander round the Home Counties - this time the peaceful outer end of Surrey between Guildford and Horsham, then to Crawley, now controlled entirely by Metrobus since they disposed of Arriva in these parts seven years ago.
|
 | Sat 14/01/06 | Basingstoke & Winchester
Another trip further afield. First to Basingstoke, not made any the more pleasant by driving rain, and then to the far prettier Winchester. Full of ex-London buses, the both of them - can't seem to avoid the damn things!
|
 | Sat 07/01/06 | Woking
With London not worth the bother any more, I'm now venturing further afield - here's a trip to Woking, shared by Arriva Guildford & West Surrey, Countryliner and Flights Hallmark.

 | Fri 09/12/05 | The Last Day |
 | Tue 22/11/05 | Spotlight on the 159
It's London's last Routemaster route, and it's got till 9th December. Here are a few of the RMLs and refurbished RMs that ply the route out of Arriva London South's Brixton Garage.

 | Thu 03/06/04 to Fri 04/06/04 | The Last Day Of The 8
An epic finish was put on by Stagecoach East London for their last Routemasters on route 8. For three weeks up to the last day of operation on 4th June 2004, special vehicles appeared, leading to a spectacular final day when twenty special buses joined the remaining RMLs on the 8. RML 2760, the last built, was the last into the garage.

 | Sat 17/04/04 | London's MCW Metrobuses
With less than fifteen now left in service of the more than 1400 that London Transport operated at their peak, the MCW Metrobus is a rapidly declining breed.

 | Sat 10/04/04 | Routes 6 and 98 Lose Their Routemasters
On 26th March the last Routemasters from Willesden garage (now of Metroline) operated on central London services 6 and 98. A full day's programme of special workings was run alongside the 28 surviving RMLs and one RM, with RT 3871, M 1, RMC 1513 and green RML 2456 all featuring. The last 6 into Willesden was RML 2431 and the last 98 was RML 2430.

 | Sat 31/01/04 | Last Routemasters On The 94
On the evening of 23rd January another London route lost its classic Routemasters, with only five left on the final day. This pictorial follows the last week's happenings to the last day where RML 2500 was the last to work, duplicated by RML 880. By way of comparison two of the characterless new Tridents are seen a week later.
